My ODOS Experience: Guest Post by Jordy Lucas of 'She Does This'

ODOS is more than infrared saunas and oxygen therapy; it’s a total relaxation experience.

When I used to think of saunas, I thought of these stuffy, smelly and somewhat claustrophobic cabins in gymnasiums. I knew there were health benefits but the thought of this stuffy, smelly sauna being communal and having to share the already uncomfortable experience with a complete stranger was enough to put me off entirely.

So you can imagine I was intrigued when I heard about ODOS and their solo-system saunas. Finally somewhere I could reap the benefits of getting hot and sweaty in a sauna but in a discrete environment, without fear of my experience being interrupted by fellow gym-goers.

The ODOS experience begins as soon as you step through the door. The space is light, bright and welcoming. Much like owner, Monique who will greet you and get you prepared for your session. Whether you’re at ODOS for a sauna or oxygen therapy, you’re always put in your own private room where you can get changed and relax for a moment before and after.

Monique takes care of all the temperatures and pressure for your treatment so all that’s left for you to do is relax and SWITCH OFF! Unless of course you’re like me and find it difficult to zen out at the best of times. In this case, you have the option of watching Netflix on the iPads, which are fitted into every sauna and oxygen capsule. It’s also safe to take your phone into the saunas so you can really pass the time however you please.

While this time is passing, you’re receiving all the benefits of near, mid, far or combinations of infrared heat, which include weight loss, detoxification, pain relief, blood pressure reduction and improved circulation. Oxygen therapy assists with recovery, inflammation and post-op healing. All this in the comfort and privacy of your own booth, NO INTERRUPTIONS!

Once your session is over, you have the option to shower and change at ODOS.

Just like the rest of the clinic, the bathrooms are PRISTINE. You’ll also be offered a refreshing, detoxifying tea upon leaving.

It’s the little details that make up the entire meditative experience that is ODOS.

It’s the relaxation and all-important privacy that keeps me coming back for more.
